GP Black Lacquer (GP300)

Endrust GP300 GP Black Lacquer is a fast-drying, ready-to-use, single-pack protective and anti-corrosion coating designed for automotive, chassis and general-purpose metal applications.

GP300 forms a continuous black protective barrier over properly prepared surfaces, helping reduce exposure of the underlying metal to moisture, oxygen, salts and other environmental contaminants that contribute to corrosion.

Its fast-drying nitrocellulose lacquer formulation requires no mixing or thinning and can be applied by conventional spray equipment, with brush application suitable for small areas. GP300 is dust free in approximately 2–3 minutes, touch dry in 5–10 minutes and dry to handle in approximately 20 minutes under normal conditions.

An important addition to the Endrust rustproofing system

GP300 is particularly useful in vehicle underbody rustproofing applications where certain factory-applied coatings or sound-deadening materials may be unsuitable for direct application of Endrust UB302B Bituminous Underbody Rustproofing.

Based on Endrust application experience, GP300 can be used in three ways:

• As the primary protective coating over underbody areas where direct application of UB302B is unsuitable.
• Selectively with UB302B, applying GP300 to compatibility-sensitive areas and UB302B to the remainder of the underbody.
• As an isolation coating before UB302B, providing a barrier over sensitive factory-applied coatings before subsequent application of UB302B once GP300 has fully dried.

Where the existing substrate or factory coating is unknown, compatibility should first be checked on a small, inconspicuous area.

UB302B remains Endrust’s preferred heavy-duty bituminous underbody rustproofing system where substrate compatibility allows. GP300 complements UB302B by providing a versatile alternative for applications and substrates where a fast-drying lacquer coating is more appropriate.

Beyond automotive underbodies, GP300 is suitable for clean, properly prepared bare metal and thoroughly sanded and degreased aged paintwork, making it useful for chassis, trailers, brackets, frames and other appropriate metal components requiring a fast-drying black protective coating.
